Takeshi Takenaka, Ph.D. From the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST)Group leader of Service Design and Implementation Research Group, Human Informatics Research Institute.Professor Takeshi Takenaka’s area of expertise lies in Service Engineering, Co-creation engineering, Experimental Psychology. He got his Ph.D. from Kobe University in Experimental Psychology in (2002), and became an Associate professor, of the University of Tokyo in (2007-2009).He currently holds the position of Group leader of Service Design and Implementation Research Group, Human Informatics Research Institute, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST)His research topics include human behaviour analysis and modelling using big data, demand forecasting and service benchmarking. He is a member of Society for Serviceology and serves on several committee members for promoting service productivity in METI.
Masahiro Fukuhara, Ph. D.Founder & CEO of IGSMasahiro Fukuhara is founder and CEO of Tokyo-‐based people analytics startup Institution for a Global Society (IGS), which he started in 2010. Prior to founding IGS, Fukuhara was managing director at asset management ﬁrm Barclays Global Investors (BGI) where he made investment decisions based on computer-driven models. Fukuhara earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Keio University and MBA from INSEAD. He holds Master’s degree (with Honors) in International Finance from Grandes Ecoles HEC and Ph.D. from Tsukuba University Graduate School of Business Sciences (Ph.D. in Business Administration). He is currently a Visiting Professor at the center for FinTEK (Finance, Technology, and Economy) at Keio University as well as adjunct professor at Hitotsubashi University’s Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy.
Michimasa Naka has over 20-years of investment banking and global markets experience, most recently as CEO, Boardwalk Capital Inc, since July 2016, and serves as Chairman of StormHarbour Japan Ltd. from October 2014, and has been its CEO since November 2010 . Mr. Naka was Deputy President and Head of Global Investor Sales for Citigroup Global Markets Japan Inc.Michimasa Naka started his investment banking career in 1989, when he joined Salmon Brothers Asia Limited to work in the foreign bonds sales division. In 1993, he was promoted to Vice President, and in 1999, he was promoted again to Director of Fixed Income at the newly established Nikko Salmon Smith Barney Limited, managing its foreign bond, life insurance and trust sales business. In 2000, Michimasa Naka became a Managing Director. He earned a Bachelor of Science and Engineering Degree from Keio University, and a Masters Degree in Engineering at Keio University.
Neil van WouwCEO and co-founder of Vanten K.K., Tokyo, Japan.Vanten created the first cloud platform for digital signage in Japan, and more recently, the game changing, next generation signage platform, Otegaru net.Neil has lived in Japan for 30 years and has found himself on the bleeding-edge of three waves of new technology. In the late ‘80s, Neil pioneered the use of Computer Graphics in road design, making it possible to “test-drive” the roads before they were built. He created drive through simulations for notable projects such as the Kansai Airport monorail, the Nagano expressway prior to the Nagano Olympics, and bridges connecting the Japanese islands of Honshu to Shikoku. In 1995, Neil joined one of the earliest Internet Service Providers in Japan, and as CTO was involved with building out the Internet infrastructure of Japan. Since 2003, Neil has been focused on building cloud infrastructure to easily and effectively use digital signs as a highly automated and scalable communications tool. Neil is a proponent of making technology accessible and leveraging technology to enable communities and communication. He is a frequent speaker for audiences in Japan and around the Asian region, including the ACCJ, Wireless Japan and Horasis Asia.Neil has a degree in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada, and is currently the Chair of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan.
